I See What You're Doing And You Are Doing It Wrong!
When your low back hurts there is this idea that you should lean back and put your hands on your hips. Stop it!
The back is meant to be flexible. You have the ability to bend backwards because if you didn’t you would break in half. And just because you can do something does not mean that you should.
The next time your low back is bothering you lean forward. Put your feet together and slowly lean forward. Let your arms and your head get heavy. Lean forward as if you were going to touch your toes but don’t force anything. Just let gravity do the work, and breathe. Always remember to breathe. Take at least 2 deep breaths in your bent over position and feel the stress and pressure come off of your low back. When finished slowly rise back up.
This nice and easy stretch can be done several times a day.
