Springtime and the Living is…Easy?
…freaking cold is more accurate. The sun is such a tease right now! You think it’s a great time to go for a walk but really it’s too cold to have any skin exposed for too long. And if the wind doesn’t blow you away the energy required to remain upright will ensure you never wish to leave your house again. But you must leave your house. And you must move around as much as possible. This is the time to start working for that summer body. Have you heard that “summer bodies are made in the winter”?
If it takes 21 days to create a habit and about 14 days to even begin to see changes to your body then you need about 30 days to make lasting results for yourself. Now, how far away are you from your goals? Just 2 kilos? Or more like 5 or 10 kilos? Maybe 10 cm or 30 cm? And how strict and diligent are you when it comes to eating right and going to the gym? Is it easy for you to skip the bread and sugar and eat only fruits and vegetables? Or do you struggle? Do you struggle like many of us with motivation, willpower, dedication, and consistency? How much time do you need to reach your goals?
That is the problem for most of us. We don’t know how much time we need. So why wait? You already know that 1 day warm weather will come. Maybe you already know where you will be going on holiday. If so, now is the time to start changing your body, to start changing your eating habits, and changing how you use your free time.
I know it’s cold. I’m from Florida! I completely understand how cold it is. But now is the time to start. Before you know it the sun will be shining into the evening and that holiday will be here, ready to whisk you away. But you want to feel amazing in your shorts and confident in your bathing suit. You want to feel fit and lively for all the summer fun that is to come.
Start today. Not Monday, today. Start with your next meal. Start with the next scheduled class you enjoy. Check your calendar and start as soon as humanly possible! No lame excuses just action. Pretend I’m standing there asking you when? And make sure the answer today or right now.
